Focus will now turn to sustaining the new production rate while work is also underway to once again increase the rate to 38 737s a month in second quarter 2013 and a final increase to 42 a month in the first half of 2014. Renton is also celebrating successfully securing production of the 737 MAX. It is thought that there will be a requirement for a third production line within Boeing’s giant facility when production of the 737MAX begins. This third line will initially run in parallel with the existing two 737NG lines. As soon as all of the NGs on order have been delivered all three lines will be reconfigured to produce the MAX. |
