BF-6 and BF-8, are the first production examples of the STOVL variant to be delivered to Eglin AFB joining the six conventional take-off and landing F-35As already being used for training at the Florida air base. Delivery follows the successful completion of shipboard landing trials on the amphibious carrier the USS Wasp in October 2011. |
January 11, 2012 - Lockheed Martin has delivered the first two F-35B short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) variants to Eglin AFB, Florida. |
